OFFICIAL UPDATE - A Choir vote was taken during the Thursday evening rehearsals. There will be no Sunday Broadcasts or future Tabernacle Choir rehearsals until Professor Steven E. Jones is reinstated to his teaching post at BYU.
All Choir members are asked to join in a protest (30-minute African Tribal chant, Handout #221: "Eegoboys Insiiy da Bilddee" arr. by Chief Zolowaka) at the front door steps of the Church Administration Building at 48 East South Temple this Friday at Noon, October 27th. Salt Lake City Police will have South Temple Street cordoned off one hour prior to the protest chant.
Parking is free at the ZCMI Mall, but we are asked to use only the 3rd Level.
Dress is casual. Pictures and posters of Professor Jones and his family will be provided.
Only Choir members are to come to the steps of the Building, please.
emails will be sent confirming the boycott of rehearsals.
We ask that you keep comments to the local and National media brief but civil.
Thank you for your cooperation.
